Where the 50% goes, and who receives it.
A Tanzanian NGO working on the education and empowerment of girls and women.
ERIPOTO supports girls and women affected by harmful cultural practices and by poor access to education. Their work covers four areas:
We chose one partner rather than several so that the money is traceable and the relationship is real. Fifty per cent of the profit from every safari and tour we run goes to this work.
What your contribution funds
ERIPOTO currently shelters 36 girls, three toddlers and two boys at its Safe House, providing meals, accommodation, healthcare and counselling. Every resident's schooling is covered too — uniforms, fees, supplies and upkeep — alongside mentoring and ongoing support.
In schools, ERIPOTO runs seminars on mental and physical health, decision-making and violence prevention — reaching close to 8,500 students across seven primary and four secondary schools in 2025.
Alongside that, a community outreach programme equips women in rural villages with skills in economic empowerment, gender-based violence prevention, menstrual health and climate resilience, reaching over 1,000 women across Mfereji, Lengijave and Njiro in 2025.
Beyond mentoring, ERIPOTO supplies girls in partner schools with the essentials families often can't stretch to — uniforms, shoes, notebooks, pens and sanitary pads — so they can attend with confidence. Over 200 girls in rural schools were supported this way in 2024.
Each year ERIPOTO teams up with other NGOs and local stakeholders — including government and church leaders from the Monduli District — to reach over 100 women, men and girls, raising awareness of gender justice, equality and harmful cultural practices.
Opened in 2024 for the neighbourhood and for the toddlers in the Safe House programme, run partly on a small fee that helps fund ERIPOTO's wider mission.
Safe House residents make handbags, uniforms, beaded jewellery, soap and baked goods — practical income-generating skills, with sales supporting ERIPOTO directly.
