The fullest cross-border itinerary we offer: Lake Nakuru's rhino sanctuary, two full days in the Masai Mara, two full days in Central Serengeti, and a finish on the Ngorongoro Crater floor, crossing overland from Nairobi to Arusha along the way.
As with our 6-day version, the Kenya portion of this route (Lake Nakuru and the Masai Mara) is run in partnership with a Kenya-based operator, with a guide and vehicle handover at the Isebania border roughly halfway through the trip. It's a genuinely different logistics chain from our Tanzania-only safaris, built specifically for travellers who want both countries properly covered in a single trip.
Pricing below reflects the real tiered rates for this route. Exact per-person cost depends on your final lodge choice and group size — tell us your dates and numbers and we'll confirm it properly.

A morning departure from Nairobi, with the drive to Lake Nakuru National Park taking three and a half to four hours. Lake Nakuru is best known for its rhino sanctuary and, depending on water levels, large gatherings of flamingos along the lake shore, alongside strong birdlife more generally. An afternoon game drive is included on arrival.
After breakfast, the drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve takes five to six hours. You'll check in, have lunch, and head straight back out for an afternoon game drive across the reserve's open plains.

A full day exploring the Mara with a packed picnic lunch, tracking the Big Five and the reserve's big cats across its varied terrain — open plains, river valleys and acacia woodland all within a single day's drive.
A second full day gives your guide room to follow recent sightings rather than working a single fixed loop — particularly useful if you're travelling during the wildebeest migration months, when the Mara River crossings draw huge numbers of wildebeest and zebra.
The drive to the Isebania border takes three and a half to four hours. Immigration formalities on both sides are handled as part of the trip, and you'll meet your Tanzanian guide and vehicle around midday for the roughly six-hour drive into Central Serengeti, with game viewing along the way.
A full day in the Seronera region with a packed picnic lunch, exploring the river basins and open valleys that make Central Serengeti one of the most reliable areas in Africa for lion, leopard and cheetah.

A second full day gives more time to properly cover the Seronera ecosystem, following wherever the wildlife currently is rather than a single fixed route.
A morning game drive in the Serengeti before departing around midday for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a picnic lunch stop at Naabi Hill Gate on the way. The drive climbs into the cooler Ngorongoro highlands ahead of tomorrow's crater descent.
An early descent takes you onto the Ngorongoro Crater floor for a five-hour game drive across one of the most concentrated wildlife arenas in Africa — black rhino, hippo, flamingo and large lion prides are all regularly seen here. A picnic lunch is taken at the Hippo Pool before the climb back out and the three to four hour drive to Arusha, arriving by around 5:00pm.
