Met on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Arusha, with the rest of the day free to rest and go through the trip briefing with your guide ahead of an early start.
A drive of a little under two hours south-west into Tarangire National Park for an afternoon game drive. Tarangire holds some of the highest elephant densities in Tanzania during the dry months, and its ancient baobab trees give the park a distinctive character.
The route crosses the Ngorongoro highlands before dropping into the Serengeti, arriving at your first camp in time for an afternoon game drive as you head toward the migration corridor proper.
This safari is built specifically around the Mara region, and your camp for the next two nights is chosen for proximity to the river crossing points rather than general Serengeti access. Between July and October in particular, this is where the wildebeest and zebra herds gather before crossing the Mara River — one of the most dramatic sights in African wildlife.

The drive south retraces the Serengeti ecosystem back toward the Ngorongoro highlands, with game viewing continuing along the way as the landscape shifts from open plains to greener highland forest.
An early descent onto the crater floor brings you into one of the most concentrated wildlife arenas in Africa. Lion, buffalo and wildebeest are common across the open floor, and the crater remains one of the last reliable places to see the black rhino.
A final game drive through Lake Manyara National Park, known for tree-climbing lions and large baboon troops, before the drive to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight.
