The same strong six-day safari as our standard 12-day itinerary — Tarangire, the Ngorongoro Crater, and three full nights in the Serengeti — but with your first night in Zanzibar spent in Stone Town itself, rather than heading straight to the coast.
Stone Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and genuinely worth a night on its own merits: narrow alleyways, carved wooden doors, centuries of Swahili, Arab, Persian and Indian trade history, and one of the best spots on the island for a sunset dhow cruise. From there, four nights at a beach resort round out the trip.

Met on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Arusha, with the rest of the day free to settle in ahead of an early start.
A drive of a little under two hours south-west into Tarangire National Park for an afternoon game drive among its elephant herds and centuries-old baobab trees.

An early descent onto the crater floor brings you into one of the most concentrated wildlife arenas in Africa. Lion, buffalo and wildebeest are common across the open floor, and the crater remains one of the last strongholds of the black rhino.
The drive continues into the Serengeti, with the scale of the ecosystem — 14,750 square kilometres, much of it visible to the horizon at once — setting in almost immediately.
A full day exploring the Serengeti, with morning and afternoon game drives covering different parts of the ecosystem depending on where the wildlife currently is.

With three full nights here, your guide has room to range further, following recent sightings from other vehicles and camps rather than working to a single fixed loop.
The drive back to Arusha and a short domestic flight to Zanzibar, landing straight into Stone Town, the island's historic heart. Rather than heading directly to the beach, this itinerary spends your first island night in the old town itself — a UNESCO World Heritage Site of narrow alleys, carved wooden doors, and a genuine mix of Swahili, Arab, Persian and Indian influence built up over centuries of trade.
A morning free to explore more of Stone Town before transferring to your beach resort on the east coast for the rest of the stay. Many guests use this morning for a guided walking tour or a stop at the spice market before heading to the coast.

A free day on Zanzibar's east coast. The beaches here are calm, shallow and lined with palm trees, and most resorts have their own pool, spa and watersports on site.

Another open day to fill however you like — snorkelling or diving on the nearby reefs, a spice farm tour, or simply more time doing nothing on the sand.
Your last full day on the island, with nothing on the schedule but the beach in front of you.
Transfer to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport in Zanzibar for your departure flight, bringing the safari, Stone Town and beach combination to a close.
